Presuming you are an XBox user, it's the latest big patch just being released.

    Discussed in this thread.

Hopefully a care package glitch and pave low fix.

Edit: I think he may mean update version 1.09 out for the ps3 today.

What's wrong with the pave low? Do you mean it not counting towards your killstreak rewards unless you haven't died in the game?

It doesn't count towards your killstreak unless you get another kill before you call it in or something like that.

I think I read on a COD wikia that the Pave low only counts towards your killstreak if it is the first one that has been called in that match. If someone on the other team called a pavelow, then a few minutes later, I called one, it wouldn't count towards my killstreak

From the various stuff I've heard and read about it, I've gathered the following.

These seem to be accepted as fact.
    • You need to be the first person to call one in.
    • You need to still be "unkilled" in that game.

These seem to be more rumours.
    • If you have called in your harrier on 7 kills, you need to get a gun kill before you get to 9 kills. As in if the harrier gets you the pavelow alone, it won't count.
    • Or slightly differently, if you get your 9th kill from Harrier and get notified that PaveLow is waiting your call, you need to get a gun kill before calling it in for it to count.
    • Or possibly, you need to get a gun kill after you call it in, and before it gets its first kill.

So overall, it is more the confusion than anything else. If they would just give a proper game guide with this stuff explained, it would save the so much bother. That's one thing I loved about older games on the PC. You got a little book with the game to explain all the bits and pieces. Now you're lucky to get a one sheet page with the games on the consoles.

Can anyone else confirm this? Sounds great, i'm sick of the unlimited airdrop glitch.

    What format do you use?

PC got this fixed straight away afaik.
XBox got it fixed at the weekend, or maybe Monday.
I'd thought PS3 got it fixed in between the two other formats. But maybe not, going by what has been said here...

@shawpower, thanks for that. I was playing Karachie there few weeks ago. My killstreaks were: Predator, Pavelow & Chopper gunner.

Got 5 kills, called in predator, got couple of kills, proceeded to kill 2 more (so was on 9), called in pavelow, got at least 10 kills with pavelow, no sign of my chopper gunner.

It was only when I killed 2 more bad guys with my rifle, then I was able to call in my chopper gunner. Proceeded to kill at least 10-12 more with my chopper.

My reckoning was I had at least 30+ killstreak, but leaderboard only reported 20 something as my max.

So in this scenario, pavelow kills didn't count towards my killstreak. Now I don't bother with the pavelow, unfortunately.

PS3, the original glitch was patched a week or so ago, but a new one showed up.

what is this patch and when will us xbox users be seeing it?

Pavelow killstreak scenario is a loada balls! Anyone got a link to where what counts and doesn't in terms of killstreaks?

This doesn't seem to be disputed by those who post afterwards. But there isn't any official word on this that I've found...

This one shows what I was saying about needing to get one gun kill before calling in the pavelow, to ensure it counts for killstreak rewards.

I just skip the pavelow(9 kills) and put in AC-130(11 kills) as it's only 2 more kills. The harrier(7 kills) should be able to get you at least 2-3 kills if the opposition don't destroy your harrier too quickly, otherwise it can get you the AC-130 easily enough which usually happens for me. My harrier probably averages around 3-6 kills depending on how quick the opposition blow it up.

In the last couple of days, I've changed my killstreaks a bit.

Up till then, I was using 5-7-9/11 predominantly. However, I've become a bit more confident in my ability plus I've decided to try for a Nuke finally. So I've changed them to 7-9-11 or 7-11-25. This depends on the lobby I'm in. If there are mostly multi-prestige players, I'll go with the first one, but if there are mostly <60 level players, I'll try for the Nuke.

It's too early to tell yet, but so far the first option has given me some very sweet games. Clearly, it means being a bit patient trying to get the 7 in a row, but once you get that, you are really laughing with those three air supports coming in. :)

I noticed something a bit odd last night

    1) my killstreaks are carepackage, sentry gun and pavelow
    2) so i got my carepackage (UAV) and sentry gun - used both (sentry gun first obviously) then eventually died
    3) a few seconds later some other guy got a care package (think he got a stealth bomber from it)
    4) I died again
    5) when i came back to life and respawned i had the same care package as him!

    PC/XBox/PS3??

That is strange... Do me a favour though. Don't put it up on YouTube so everyone in the game tries out a new glitch...

    xbox

my brother in law claims the same thing happened to him on Afgan on Monday. He says he threw his care package and gun at the same time. Used his AC130 and his sentry gun

his sentry gun got destroyed, he then died. Respawned and got a drone from a CP for some reason!
