Gear Slipping

    Hi All,

I put a new groupset (Tiagra 9spd Compact) on my bike a couple of weeks ago and had it tuned in the LBS, but the gears are "slipping" on the 4th/5th gears on the cassette. Basically, when I shift down into the 4th gear it will stay there for a revolution or so and slip into 5th, before slipping back down to 4th and so on. The higher and lower gears are indexed correctly

I have adjusted the length of the chain using the big ring method, it doesn't seem to have made any difference. Any ideas? (the chain is a shim HG 53 and the cassette is a HG 50 11-25)

    Cheers!

If it has been two weeks since it was tuned, it may just be that your gear cable has worn in (stretched), in which case use the barrel adjuster on the rear mech to tighten/tension it a little and see if that sorts it out.
