Questioning The Others

The one thing that has struck me throughout LOST is the lack of instant questioning The Others. The one instance that springs to mind is when
    Sawyer left the temple
    and
The Others sent Kate & co out to get him back because it would be bad. Now nobody went "Bad? Bad how? Why?"

Whenever The Others act all mysterious very rarely do the losties vocalise their concerns. Now Jack or Locke might get all huffy puffy and ask and is usually given a weak/mysterious answer. I can understand when Ben doesn't give very direct answer esp re Jacob seeing as he hadn't seen him but now that The Losties are with The Others in the temple. If I were there I'd be asking alot of questions to everyone around me. Even just to explain some stuff.

Maybe that's why The Others took the kids - they asked too many questions!

It's happened throughou the whole thing.

Someone asks a question, other person is about to answer, something happens, question never gets answered.
It used to piss me off no end. No matter how small the incident which stopped the question being answered, it still had an alzheimer affect on the questioner who never says 'so about that..."

its worse durign a re-watch!! its actually one thing that my non-lost friends use to show the lack of credibilities with the human nature of characters on LOST.

with us(humans) being very inquesitive... Ive no retort to them other than its a shwo and would only last 2episodes if it answered all the questions.

This isnt Flash Forward they arnt FBI agents. The Others were their enemies until recently so there is hardly gonna be any Q & A sessions. And if their was this would have all been over after 2/3 seasons.

I was thinking the same thing. Theres loads of times I would of been "wait whats that? Hang on answer my question" but no they just continue on unanswered.

    Like in the latest episode
Jack sees all that strange crap in the lighthouse thing and knows hurley might be able to ask jacob about it but hes just like da da da smash im off to sit on a rock for a while

i know its the worst part of the show there doesnt seem to be any reason the 'others' wont tell them either they just havent answered properly

They next time Ben or one of the others give a mysterious or cryptic answers someone should grab give them a shake and say'what the **** are you on about?!!"

I thought they had addressed this somewhat in the last few seasons, especially if Locke was involved in the conversation. From what I've seen this season I'm just going to have to live with the fact that
most "others" haven't a clue anyway and just followed orders without question
. The few "in the know"
couldn't even be bothered to let their people in on the identity of the smoke monster
and the possibility of the events we are seeing now. Also, the people "in the know"
    are dropping like flies

it's just lazy writing, to make it easier on themselves to wow their audience with the tiny little reveals and answers we get fed from time to time.

Lol, no issue with smoke monsters and time travel it's the character portrayal that stops them suspending disbelief :D
