Ford Bluetooth and Iphone

    Hi,

I have searchd the forum and cannot find an answer to this query so was hoping someone here could help me! I have also posted in the apple forum last week but received some replies so I thought someone here may have had experience of this.

I purchased an Iphone 3GS last week and am unable to pair it with the bluetooth system in my 2007 Ford focus. Everytime I try to pair the device I get a message on my radio screen saying "bonding fail" and the iphone reverts to "not paired" status. At no point during this process do I get asked to enter a passcode.

Does anyone here know if this is a known problem or is it an issue with my car system or the iphone?

Any help or advice you can offer would be gretly appreciated.

    Barry

I had this problem with my Iphone 2G and a 09 Mondeo (with Ford 6000 CD stero). For me it was a limitation on the number of bonded devices. In my case there were a max of 6 bonded devices already setup, so I had to delete one of those and then my Iphone was able to bond.

Thanks Quigs - I hadn't thought about that. I will give it a try when I get home. Once again thanks for the advice.

    Hello,
I have a Focus 07 and I can't bond it either. I looked on a UK Ford website which gives lists of compatible devices with the Focus and unfortunately mine is not on the list. I guess the question is wheter Ford can upgrade your Bluetooth version so it will be compatible. I have a feeling that they can't or else they would let us know.

    Regards

Yeah, that happened me too. Took me ages to figure it out

    Hey
Just wondering if anyone could help me with this? I'm not sure what I need to do to get my 3Gs to work through the bluetooth system... I tried to follow the instructions in the guide but it talks about a cradle which I don't have. Do I need to get one?
Anyone got foolproof instructions for me??
    Thanks in advance.... :)

Just thought I'd bump this to see if anyone can help....? Is is possible to connect my iPhone to an 07 Focus built in car kit?

So I have a 2011 focus (not the new schnazzy model but does the job) and an Iphone 4s. Up until yesterday, the bluetooth connection between both of them were working just fine.

However, yesterday when I tried to make a call over bluetooth connection to my phone, I just get an "Unavailable" option when I press the green phone button to activate the connection.

I checked the blue tooth connection on the phone and it's still on and active and the other functionality on the radio (i.e. AUX) is working fine, I am reaching the end of my rapidly fraying rope here, I need a bluetooth connection in the car for work purposes and it's gone belly up.

    Anyone have any tips?? Help!!!
