accommodation in Castlebar area

Hi,
My husband has just got a job in Castlebar, after being unemployed since May 09. Of course we're very happy about this, but the problem is we live in Limerick!! He needs a place to stay Mon to Thurs, 4 nights. He's staying in a B&B at the moment & its too expensive, as he needs to be up there for a few months.

Any suggestions, maybe a room to rent? or advice on getting a cheaper place to stay in that area, would be greatly appreciated

The best bets are to (a) shop around (b) set if the B&B will do a deal if he agrees to a fixed period (c) look for someone who is letting a room in their own house who might want the place to themselves at the weekend (I presume).

Check out daft.ie and the accommodation office in GMIT which would presumably have people used to offering lodging.
