    Hi,
we're trying to arrange our wedding for the autumn and are considering reception options. Does anyone know of a venue (country house, club or whatever) where we could bring in our own caterers? We'll be getting married in North Donegal so somewhere in that neck of the woods would be great. I can't seem to find any online but would love something different from the usual hotel do. Any and all suggestions appreciated :D

Great. It'd be good to know what alternatives there are. I know that in other countries there are loads of self catering options. I went to a lovely wedding in France where they hired the gorgeous village hall out for the reception which was catered by the extended family . We spent the few days before the wedding decorating and arranging the seating which was great fun and allowed the bride and groom to have it exactly the way they wanted.
Another wedding I attended in Switzerland had the afternoon reception in the local vineyard which was beautiful. We have so many beautiful buildings and locations in Ireland, surely there must be lots of places available to hire
