I'm dying to work a season in a ski resort, either in Europe or North America, and I'm wondering if anyone has ever done it and what you need to do to get a job!

I'm just looking for bar work or something like that, is there a way going about this?

Let me know how you got on and where you went.

    Hiya,

A friend of mine is doing this at the moment, in Grenoble in France, he basically just arrived over there, booked 2 weeks in a hostel, got a job in the bar in the hostel and after a few months he got a job in a ski resort, he's having a ball.

He's 24 but only had about 3 months bar experience which I'm sure he hammed up, but that was it basically, just went over and did it :)

Did a season in whistler last winter.. Loved it..

I went over with 5 others.. Had a months accom prebooked.. no job sorted.. was hard as you couldnt ring places and ask for phone interviews..

Arrived there and first day went out with Cv's and hit every shop.. Got a job that week in a Clothes store.. did the job!!!

Accom was a little harder.. Had to tell a few little lies..

Sounds good alright, when in the year did you head over? is it the earlier the better? It's only 2 of us so hopefully it wouldn't be too bad.

Also, did u have a working visa? Which one did you get and how much?

    Cheers

Yeah, i applied for that same USIT programme, although they're full at the moment and i'm in the waiting list.

I also chatted to the guys at Highlife to see about getting a job with them!

Suppose the more options the better!
