A few days ago the Vancouver website had her down for slalom, giant slalom, super g & super combined - now she's just slalom & gs - can anyone confirm what she is competing in?

They have totally changed around the schedule of the womens alpine events now so it's possible that the new timetable won't allow for competing in so many events.

She could still enter each if she wanted. Kirsty likely just wants to concentrate on her strong events with the schedule being compacted due to postponements.

From what I heard before she left it was only ever going to be Salomon and GS. Wouldnt hold your breath on seeing her unless she gets lucky and get a high bib Number
Awsome skier and amazing to think she has been as low as 50 FIS points

Yeah it is hard to get it out of there at the moment there is so much going on!!!

FIS points are a measure of how good/ bad a skier is world champions start at 0 every year and based on results their points will go up or down. To give you an Idea of how good 50 is for an Irish Athlete the link below shows the FIS points for the current Irish crop.

Most of the guys on the World Cup circuit will have points between 0-15/20 depending on their strengts etc. Lindsy Vonn' is quite incredible.

What's the story with Thos Foley, is he still competing? how come he's not in Vancouver?

Kirsty was entered for all the events in which she has qualification, except for Downhill which was her last choice of event. Having divided her time in the last year between RCSI studies and skiing she feels she hasn't had enough training & racing time in the speed events so will concentrate on Slalom & GS.
Ski Centre wishes her loads of luck and can't wait to see the new Irish Team Catsuit!

Better still Kirsty's best point score was around 31 !! (although the points are climbing now due to lack of racing).

Thos has done a couple of alpine events this year, and proved he's still no slouch; but had put everything into Skier Cross the last couple of years, where unfortunately Olympic Qualification is really tight.
