    Anyone have any?

I need a pair of fleece lined tights, I have lots of knee warmers but it's the wrong climate and leg warmers still leave your upper thighs exposed and cold.

Plus, these come in blue, which I like:

    50% off on CRC

I just don't have any Santini shorts (I think?) so any opinions welcome.

have a pair of these in red, pretty good i think - keeps me warm on long spins. did have a little fall last month off my bike and put a lovely slit in them  but i suppose that could happen with any tights !!!

I have two pairs. The SP1152 which are light, padless ones for spring/autumn and the Santini Storm Bibtights, which are roubaix. Got both from CRC. I'd definitely recommend them. They seem well-made, the roubaix ones are the warmest bib-tights I've owned, and the strap that goes under your foot is useful to stop them riding up your ankle. The pad on the Storm is really good too.

What are the sizes like on these? I have a Santini jacket and it;s an XL and snug. I'm not big either so wondering for someone 5'11" what size would you recommend? Cheers

Are you sure? I'm a 5'7" short arse and have two pairs of medium Santini bib tights that fit perfectly.

Be careful, if your foot slips out of the under-sole strap thing it might recoil and put your eye out ;)

    Medium for you, I reckon.

But, but why would the size chart lie?

Actually, it wouldn't be the first time a size chart tried to deceive me.

Do you really think you are a large person?

    Below the waist? Massive!

As a larger guy, I never go by the height measurements with bibs, I go by the waist sizes given, I am 5'10" and I always get the larger sizes, normally XXXl which fit me fine, but according to most recommended measurements I should be 6'1"-6'3" for this size, and I'm damn sure there are loads of guys out there this height are wearing Medium or Large, I find the waist/chest measurement is better to go by rather than height, but thats just my odd figure;)

I think height matters if you are the other way, if you get bib shorts that have straps too short they will dig up very uncomfortably into your crotch... in my experience anyway. This doesn't seem to gel with Raam's experience though.

Plus the straps can become tighter when you are in a cycling position. I have a pair of shorts that actually hurt my neck because while they feel fine when I'm standing or sitting, after a few hours in the saddle I notice the tightness.

Dirk. I would highly recommend DHB bibtights. There are two types one for winter and one for freezing weather.
I have both and I find them to be excellent. Cheap but very high quality. Imho the cold weather one is almost as good as my ASSOS bibtights. The Assos tights score more because the windblock material is very good in cold rain. But other than that he DHB tights are top notch in cold weather.

Cheers ROK ON. My only pair of tights are DHB, but they are the non-fleecy version. I agree, very comfortable, but I found on the coldest days I had to wear leg warmers under them. Which ones are the freezing ones, the finchdean?

CRC are doing a sale on campag clothing, which is perhaps my favourite cycle clothing, so I think I will get some of those :)

I've had two pairs of the DHB merston tights - which I think are the ones for colder weather. Not as warm as a pair of Nalini I have but do the job nonetheless. They're very comfortable and have a good quality insert.

They have ankle zips which I find annoying in themselves but the zips themselves are quite poor quality. Both pairs of tights broke a zip long before the tights themselves were worn out.

I got about a winter and a half out of the two pairs though. If they made them without ankle zips I'd buy them again in a heartbeat...

    Sorry - you're right actually.

    Finchdeans are the warmest
    merston in between
    earnley - not fleece lined

Yeah I have the earnley, good fit but chilly and suitable for spring/autumn.

Campagnolo clothing is probably the best fitting stuff I have worn, nice and tight. A bit overpriced, it's decent quality but DHB is slightly inferior for much much cheaper. Paying for the name, but that's my style!

I'd love to get a pair of assos but 1) I'd probably end up crashing the first day I wear them and 2) newframenewframenewframe
