Best Car Chases

Caught Ronin on some cable film channel over the weekend. I never sat through the whole film before, mainly because of Natascha McElhones accent.

Ok ish movie I guess.

Anyway one thing that did strike me was the quality of the car scenes and the effort that had gone into capturing the sounds, engine roars, gear changes etc - pretty good stuff (weapon sounds were well done as well i noted).

So what other good car chase scenes are out there.

The Getaway had one but wasnt that great and I vaguely remember a chase in The French Connection, and of course Blues Brothers... not sure if you'd call that one great though.

The problem with modern car chases is that I know a lot of the scenes are supplemented with CGI effects. A really good car chase should have only real cars, the screech of tires and the guttural roar of their engines.

Bullit car chase is without doubt the most over rated car chase ever, how many different camera angles does the green Beetle appear in??

This is far superior

but old 70s european movies have the best chases

and in car, in a Merc 450 SEL 6.9 not a Ferrari 275 has legend has it, V12 was dubbed over
