Whats it doing? (or not doing) If the immobeliser isnt turning off the car will turn over but wont catch and start. If its not doing anything at all it's somehting else.

When key is turned to MAR position. Is there any lights on in the dash? Does the cabin light come on when door is opened etc..

Could be starter solenoid is the above works.

i came across a similar problem with a megane coupe of similar age. It was the immobiliser that was gone and in order to start the car you had to enter a code (obtained from Renault I believe).

For example of the code was 6425 you'd press the unlock button from inside the car 6 times, 4 times, twice and then 5 times. After that, turn the key and it started. Its a huge pain in the ass but it could be that
