Sky connections

    Couple of questions for you,

Is it possible to link the RF1's from 2 boxes, put through 1 cable to feed a 3rd/4th room? (so you can watch either box on different channels in 3rd/4th room, seeing as the sky output can be set to different frequencies). I dunno if theres some sort of 2 IN 4 OUT type connector.

Also can the RF2 from 1 box be connected to the Aerial IN of a 2nd box....so signal goes to TV by Scart from 2nd box? (eg Sky + box in sitting room, wanna watch it in bedroom where Multiroom box is, if a programme is saved on Sky+ box).

Why not just install a magic eye of the RF2 on your + box to the TV in the 2nd location.

    That is the plan anyway

But is it okay for 2 freq. to be joined and fed through a single co-axial cable.

Anyone know if RF2, through Eye can be fed through Aerial IN on unstairs box or will it do damage with bthe Voltage on the RF2?

Yep you can put loads of freq down the one cable, in my parents we have an aerial on the roof point up north we get BBC1, BBC2, Channel 4 UTV and RTE 1,2 TG4 and TV3, we then loop this into the SKY reciver and out to the attic then through a booster to all the rooms so we can all watch any of the channels and the SKY is on channel 8 in every room but its controled by the box in the main room! so in our instance we have 10 freq's pumping down the cable! its an analouge signal so its not like a satatlite feed you can have loads of freq's on it.

I think you need to make sure they arent too close together as some might interfere with others but if your doing it just with 2 boxes you can play around changing them to see what happens.

What you could do is connect the sky box and Sky+ together through Rf2 make sure that one of the boxes is set to rf ch 68 and the other to say rf ch 34. now if you have an aerial connect that to aerial input on which ever box is feeding from rf2 out into the other box now you can feed the amp in your attic with rf 2 and your main tv with rf1 this way you will have 4 terristrial channels plus sky+ and sky in all your rooms also get your self a set of these http://www.reallycleverhomes.co.uk/acatalog/Marmitek_PowerMid_XL_infrared_extender_set.html to change either box from your other room.

So would I be right in saying that if I took a feed from Main RF2 to Aerial in on Second box, from 2nd box take feed from RF1 (or 2 with another eye), to 3rd & 4th rooms then I would have BOTH Sky Boxes feeding 3rd & 4th rooms without the need to "directly" connect Main Box to 3rd & 4th Room?

Don't use eyes they wont work this way just connect an aerial if you have one to aerial input on first box and daisychain/loop both boxes together feed the amp in your attic from rf2 on last box and your main tv with rf1 and get a pair of powermids as i say if done right you will receive channels from both boxes in all rooms and whichever room you want to control both boxes just plug in powermid transmitter to electric socket near tv. I do a lot of tv links this way for customers.

After conecting box boxes to the Aerial in of the other I had problems with interference, even though Freq. of both boxes were not the same.

I can only assume it's a conflict of both boxes sending out both signals. As when I disconnected the Aerial In to the Upstairs box and fed directly to TV (on in my case upstairs Video then onto Tv).

I ended up getting it to work by,

Sky+Box RF2 Out - Upstairs Video In – Then Video Out Connected to TV Aerial IN (allows recording on Sky on Video). (Note: OR Connect RF2 Direct to TV Aerial In if NO Video).

Sky+Box RF1 Out - SPLIT coming out of it,
1st Feed to Other rooms (via Side Box Cable)
2nd Feed to Sitting Room Video In – Video Out to TV Aerial IN

Sky+Box Aerial IN - Fed from Upstairs Sky Box RF2 output,
(Note: Sky Eye is connected just before Sky+Box Aerial IN)

So bascially have both Sky playing on all 4 TV's, with it available on 2 videos in house (just in case I needed it). I can also control the upstairs box from down stairs, looking at maybe getting an Eye to control Sky+ downstairs from Upstairs.
