There's a few M3 owners on bmw-driver.net, think they're insured with Britton or Quinn.

seemly Travellors (sp) are the best for insuring M3's at the moment.

www.123.ie put all their car policies through them but you may need to call, although i did get a quote for an E60 M5 on their online system.

You could try 123.ie as well, they're supposed to be ok if you're willing to pay a bit of excess.

I got an online quote of €906 with full no claims protection off them and that is with a previous claim on my insurance with FBD, but I had my NCB protected with them, and 6 years at that.

Let us know how you get on, I'd be interested to hear, as I like the M3 as well and might change this year.

Travelers won't do direct business it's broker only.

I was insured on 08 M3 for 1k with 4 points via First Ireland. Can't be much dearer than that for you.

123.ie were the only ones that would quote me on my RX8 without a massive excess. There is still an excess but it's only about €300.

A little bit of excess, like €4,000?

got an online quote of 1600 from britton insurance but the excess is 4000 so might give that a miss. 123 gave me 2100 with 300 excess. quinn wont quote me but i might do what i did before and say i bought the car already so they will give me a quote then

I feel that is a very good quote. Only a couple of years ago, you would have had to take on the 4k excess in your situation. Only another couple of years before that, nobody would have quoted you!

    Agree.

OP, you may have checked this out already, if so, good with luck it.

You can't compare the running costs of an M3 v a 325i. I don't have the exact figures to hand, but a mate of mine has a 323i and M3 and has been explaining how expensive it is (M3) in comparison. So much so, he is offloading his M3 after next NCT.

I have an E36 M3 and there are very few places that will insure but there is a way around this. I was also with Quinn and when I rang up for a quote they said that they did not insure that car. However the agent asked me if I had already bought the car. I asked him why he needed to know and he told me that if I had already bought it they could transfer the new car to my existing policy so that's what I did. It didn't cost a huge amount more so try that. On another note try 123.ie

i know the cost of running it is a lot higer than a 325 but i think its worth it well for now anyway. I did the same before with quinn with the 325, said i wanted to transfer over to it and i had bought it already so wasnt too much more expensive. Going to do it with the m3 as well see how much extra it is. If they give me some rediculous amount i know 123 are there anyway. thanks

I use insure.ie Best done over the phone imo.

They handle renewals every year for me by sending me the relevant forms and no claims certificates. They find the cheapest quote for me every year based on my requirements and I sign the forms and return. Very happy with it.

Price wise, I was insuring an 06 rrs hse with Quinn for 690 and insure.ie insured it for 619 INCL a second new policy with NO nc on a 97 starlet.
Now, they're insuring my 850i on an English plate for the moment with the other 2 cars for an additional 360.

    Give'm a call 01 2932300

I'm getting very good quotes off 123 for my car too - half what Hibernian wanted after those bastards hiked my renewal by €250.

got my renewal in the post for the m3 and its gone from 1900 on a 325 to 2900. i think i might be changing now. 123 seem to be the best but going to ring around see what i can get

Like another poster, I'd recommend that you try insure.ie

I've been with them for nearly 4 years now, currently with a E46 318, and every year they find me the best deal. And believe me, I do try to do better myself!

www.xsdirect.ie will obviously do it, not great in a crash but sure its legal.

    Is your 325ci an e46?
