I've been to Turkey twice, and i would never EVER go again.

Don't mean to put you off but i'll just tell ya some of my experiences

You can't walk past a shop without getting hassled to buy stuff, after 20minutes of this it gets annoying.

Try going out for a meal at night and looking at a menu outside a restaurant, you will be hassled repeatedly.

We went to the beach, we were sunbathing and i went to the hut, 2mins away to get some drinks, by the time i got back 3 turks were hassling my gf (wife now).

The Hotel Manager even tried to get me hammered so he could try it on wit my wife, ended up having to slap him for him to get the message.

Turkey is a lovely country wit some great sites BUT the people just see you as a walking cash dispenser.

We've been going to Zante (Zakynthos), Greece for the past 2 years and will probably try another Greek Isle this year, much better and totally hassle free

We've been to Turkey twice. Kusadasi and Gumbet. Personally, I would never return.

However, I have a friend who has been to Bitez (not far from Gumbet) four times, and they just love it there.

I would agree with scudzilla, Zakynthos is lovely. Tsilivi and Alykes/Alykanas in particular.

was in istanbul last week, never encountered one problem, hotel staff were great, bar staff were great, people seemed nice, things like public transport are stupidly cheap compared to here

Have been to Bitez about half a dozen times and dont have a bad thing to say about it.

I can recommend the Mandarin Gardens in Bitez. Staff cant do enough for you. If you want to stay in the bar on your own all night they will stay open as long as you like.

Walking along the beach bar managers are very friendly, but not overpowering, and the service you get when you pick a bar is outstanding.

Never once had a problem there. Even going out the the evening the place feels safe.

I've been to Kusadasi twice and thought it was great. You do get a bit of hassle from the shopkeepers but I thought it was funny and didn't put me off. Very competitive prices and some beautiful sights.

I've been to Kusadasi once and once only... If I won a holiday to Turkey I can't think of who'd I'd give it to, I don't dislike anyone that much! Head for the Greek Islands instead.

I have being to Kus about 20 times and love the people and country food is top class and top class beaches OK you do get a bit of hassle if you call it that off the shop owners/workers but you can have good fun with them and after a few days they get to know you and that's the end of it and also the best place for value for money I have found.
I am going for 3 weeks in July and my wife for 4 :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

    Have a read here http://forum.kusadasi.biz/index.php

    So how cheap is Kudasi?
Myself and a group of friends are considering going there for about 2weeks. I'll probably be on a budget of 600-700 spending money while there. Could I get by comfortably on this or not?

What would the average price of a meal be in Euros be? And taxi and night costs?
