Years in the yearning, weeks in the making, the IWL is finally here
The IWl is the Irish Woodsball League, a series of games between groups of people who like to play paintball in the woods and in scenario fields. It will see teams from across the country battle it out over 4 action packed events to see who will be crowed the IWL Champions for 2010.

The format is simple. Two teams of 7 brave souls each take to the field. Each team has 20mins to complete the objective of the game while staying alive. The teams will be tested on their tactical ability to complete an objective, their cunning to eliminate the enemy opponents and their survival instincts. Points will be won and lost base on their Kills, Losses and Objectives - The KLO. The teams will battle out each game over two legs ( attack & defend) and the over all winner progress to the next stage and the loser gets to play for their dignity.

The games will take place across the country in the East and the West. Battlebridge Paintball playing host to the west-side while Frontier Paintball are the east costs hosts. Each venue will host two exciting events. Teams will score ranking points for each event so in order to win the title, they will have to attend all events and prove their mite. The IWL has full use of each site for the day so even after the scoring games are finished, there will be plenty of time afterwards for some fun and practice games.

The league is open to every one who plays any form of paintball or who wants to start it up. It will be a nice break for a speedball team to take cover in cool shade of the woods and release. You can play just one event for the fun or enter all events for the competition - Its your call.

    Some details:
    • This is a 7man format i.e. 7 players on the field plus subs
    • Team entry is €250 per event
    • Each team is guaranteed 2 ranking games ( each game = 2 x 20mins halfs)
    • BYOP Paint - Yes Bring your own paint or buy from the site
    • Max rate of fire is 10.5bps
    • PSP & NXL Full Auto Allowed - Tippmann E-grip, BT TM7 & TM15 Legal
    • All types of marker allowed once the FPS and ROF are legal
    • One hit one kill - head 2 toe and what ever you bring onto the field ( except pods)
    • Radios allowed
    • 20mins max game time
    • Points awarded for kills and objectives
    • Points lost for losses, cheating and being late
    • Events will be at alternating locations once a month / or 5 weeks
    • Mixed marshalling - Venue staff and 2 members from each non-playing team ( players or helpers )
    • Details on payment and entry will be announced soon
    • Detailed Rules will be out shortly

Those are the basics details to get you going and start forming a team. The min that you need is just 7 people to get a team together. That works out at roughly €35 per person with BYOP Paint remember. Get a squad of 10 together and that shoots down to €25 for the days play.
