Usually if you just enter the number 0 that should work. Sometimes it won't recognise my post code if I enter Dublin X but if I change it to X, it accepts it.

Post a link to the auction itself. This sounds like you are trying to buy from a UK seller who has set up his auction to only sell to people in the UK -so it is looking for a UK address.

You should never bid on an auction without knowing the post cost and if the seller will even ship to your country. You can see in this active thread an Irish person is having trouble since a Belgian guy bid on his auction which was meant to sell to Ireland only.

In the past if UK sellers quoted post I sometimes had to change the very end of my address to a UK one, I got a legit postcode online and sent emails and notes on my paypal account.

I'd have been surprised if this was anything to do with your address wrt the auction - its an Irish seller anyway

I use NA in the post code field and have never had a problem.

There should be no problem with the post code. I use N/A and have never had a problem.

Maybe the seller has set it that he wouldn't take bids from newbies.

Auction seems fine, he is selling to Ireland. I just tried to change my own account address and there is nothing at all in my postcode box.
