'The A-Team' movie trailer

They just showed the first official world premiere trailer of 'The A-Team' movie on Fox in the States during the coverage of the Daytona 500. All I can say is.......

Like many other people on here, I'm sure, having watched 'The A-Team' TV show in the 1980's as a kid, I had big hopes for this film and hoped it wouldn't turn out to be another rubbish remake like we've seen of so many films and TV shows in recent years (the 'Miami Vice' film, the new 'Knight Rider' TV series, for example). Even more so with one of our own, Liam Neeson, having been cast as Hannibal.

Unfortunately, if the trailer I've just seen is anything to go by, it looks like it's going to end up being this years 'G.I. Joe', a view re-enforced when you see the likes of the scene where
their transport plane gets blown to pieces, they climb into a tank that's in the back and, as it's falling from the sky, they deploy the parachutes on the tank to let them float safely to the ground. But not before one of the guys opens the turret, mans the .50 calibre machine gun and shoots down the fighter that shot up their plane...... whilst still falling from the sky!
I mean, really! I know the TV show was cheesy and you used to have to suspend disbelief a lot when watching it, but this is just too much, if you ask me.

I think when this film opens in the summer (July 11th is the US opening date, according to the trailer) I won't bother going to see it because I don't want it to destroy the good (if somewhat cheesy!) memories I have of the TV show.

Big time, the A-Team was possibly the best thing on tv in the 80's.
They just can't leave things well enough alone.

I remember when Mr.T was The Man, now he is just a man...

It's possibly just that they can't top the previous characters.

The best way to ruin childhood memories of the A-Team is to watch an episode of the A-Team. It really wasn't that good, with the benefit of hindsight.

yeah well looking back it was very cheesy, but as a kid you just wanted to see what they could do with a few sheets of metal, a couple planks of wood and four odd tires, and no one died dispite how many explosions or car crashes they were in

watching the TV series now brings back those memories when your hung over at the weekend, not sure a remake will top them.

I think that trailer is making this look like one of the best movies of the year.

How long has it been since we had a tongue in cheek action movie?

Ditto, how is anything in that trailer any more ridiculous than anything that was in the tv show? it was a fairly low budget show and if you try to watch an episode now its laughable, still has one of the greatest tv theme tunes ever though:D

Anything that has a Tank vs. Plane scene is ok by me. :)
The fact that it's The A-Team and they didn't f*** with the van and put flames or something on it even makes it more awesome!!

Well lets hope he does a better american accent than he did in Taken

if you were the same age watching that trailer as you were watching the tv show you would think its class

the problem isnt that the trailer is too cheesy its that you have all grown up and are looking back threw rose tinted glasses

I think I'll be going to see this purely for the cheese factor. I mean the TV show itself was incredibly cheesy. They never seemed to actually hit anyone when firing a gun just shot around the enemies feet and you gotta love the slow mo car flying through the air half sideways part that was in every episode. Classic.
