    Hi all,

I'm 19 and I am currently living in my parents home, however I am not getting along with my mother and things are getting a bit dire to be honest. I would like to move out of home. As I understand it you have to get on the council housing list to get rent allowance is this correct?. I'm a full time student, What is the best way to go about all this?

Go to your local community welfare office, usually based in your local health centre. Explain your situation and ask for the relevant forms. You may also need to get forms from the housing department of your local council.

The situation would likely need to be serious for them to give you anything.
