    Hey Guys

My car died yesterday and the garage gave me a rental car. Because the office wasn't open I didn't get any forms or paperwork (won't until Monday) but the guy kept on going on bout the insurance being changed over.

My Insurance company doesn't open weekends so I can't get through to them but I checked my policy and it says I am covered to drive other cars including rental cars. Does that mean I still need to do anything?

    Very confusing

AFAIK you will have basic third party but not comprehensive. This means that you are personally taking on the risk for damage to the car you are driving.

Some insurers allow fax or email notification for simple things like temporary change of car.
Maybe garage did this for you?

Most policy only allow driving random cars provided you dont own them & also provided that there is some form of insurance on that car.

if you have driving of other cars you are fine until monday but it will only be third party cover

you should ring them on monday morning to make sure you get it transfered over properly
