Hi has anyone any tips on cleaning brass door handles, I have tried brasso but they are 10 years old and look like they have never been cleaned some are fairly dirty. Would anyone have a kim and agie formula to clean them?

    Thanks
    ULS

The problem with brass is that when the lacquered finish isn't maintained consistantly it will be next to impossible to restore it. Maybe there is a homemade formula to clean them up a bit but don't expect miracles

My dad picks up random bits of brassware for boats whenever he can and some of the stuff he's gotten has been positively black. He fills a basin with cola and leaves them in it overnight - come out nice and shiney! Don't think about what it's doing to your insides when you drink the stuff.... :/
