Test Waiting Times

On stated waiting times - according to the pass rate form on the RSA website, they are scheduling applications from five weeks ago from my intended test centre. On applying online, the 'transaction complete' form says it will take up to six weeks to process my form - does that mean a combined estimated wait time of eleven weeks or do they just quote an average guess for all centres on application?

All centres vary but usually you'll be waiting at least two months from the time you applied to when you hear anything. When you receive your letter or email you'll probably have 3-4 weeks notice for the test date.
I'm not sure if things are back to normal but all the cancellations in Dec/Jan messed up the normal waiting times a bit.:)

My nearest test centre was showing a 6 week waiting period but I received a letter within a week and did my test 25 days later. I indicated that I would take a cancellation slot but it would appear that the actual processing doesn't take too much time.

6 weeks is really good. That wasn't in Dublin was it?

If you apply to accept cancellations, you could be called for a test at any stage. I applied one day and was called 2 days later on a friday to be asked if i could take the test the tuesday. They needed to know fairly quickly because of the list but i got it and passed. That was in tallaght.

I applied at the end of November, (at the time it said they were currently processing applications from sept 20th or so) heard back from them about the 12-13th of January and took my test on February 11th.

Passed it too, first time (but now I'm just showing off :p )

I applied for mine in mid-January, and haven't even got the confirmation letter yet. Anyone else think this is a bit odd? I've e-mailed the RSA but no reply as of yet.

I didn't receive a confirmation letter at all...just the notice of the test date about two and a half months after I applied. I did wonder at the time but it seems like quiet a few people don't receive confirmation letters. I got an email though confirming my payment.

Lol I also applied for a cancellation in Tallaght but I'm positive they overlooked it because I still ended up waiting a couple of months for a reply!!

Appointment confirmed today, late March - dont feel too confident.

I only get to drive every three weeks, but have put in about 50 hours in the last six months.

Any tips for last minute cramming??
