Vw gti bumper on a normal vw golf!!

Hey ppl,

Was wondering could you help me. Last night i was ran off the road by some boy racers who decided they wanted to race each other towards me..but anyway the car got some damage.

I have a vw 06 1.6 golf. I need to get a new bumper and supports, a grill and a new rad for it but i was thinking about getting a gti bumper and grill for it if possible.

Was just wondering does anyong know if its hard to put a gti bumper on a normal vw golf??

I would imagine it's a straight fit!

Straight fit but will look out of place without matching Side skirts and rear bumper as the GTI bumper is big than the standard one.

Also will look stupid with standard wheels/hub caps and tractor ride height,oh and don't fit the badge.

A better compromise would be the GT bumper or if it was mine i'd fit a Jetta bumper.

Tossy, Cheers for tht...i didn know about d side skirts or back bumper...so u reckon it would just look totall out of place?

Mite see about a gt or jetta nw though...jut want it to look a bit better than the original..yano!!

Em...no i didn get a thing...they decided it be cool to race around a corner so i didn get a thing it was all kinda a blur!! :mad:

Count yourself lucky so,Jetta bumper would be my vote.

The GTI bumper would make the car look crap unless you fitted all the other bits to balance it out,as the GTI bumper would sit a few inches lower than the rest of the car.

And even if all the GTI bits were fitted, the car would still be trying to be something it's not.

If you want to enhance the look of the car, I'd second the Jetta front bumper. There's a difference between enhancing the look of a car rather than making it look better by replicating another model.

Yeah i dunno if id be mad about a jetta bumper....it wouldn be a straight fit would it? Or how do they even look??
