    Hi lads just wondering can a short action remington be used on a 6.5x55 build. Ive seen a 6.5-284 built on one so just curious. Thanks

    Sorry lads was doin bit of research there and dont think short action would work which is pity as was gettin good deal on a stainless short action

    The short action would work for the 6.5 x 47 lapua or .260 rem , don't suppose you've come across a ruger no.1 action or rifle with knackered barrel in your travels have you ?

    No i havent but will have scout around for you, out of curiousity would you use short action remy if find one before ruger

    I think it would be extremely unlikely that someone with the taste to want a Ruger No 1 would be happy with a stainless Remington 700 short action.

    Each to their own i was only saying might know where there was an action if it helped the lad out

    thanks customrifle , i had a remy 700 years ago and to be honest i didn't get on with it ,

    i've always wanted a ruger no.1 or other farquarson actioned rifle , and to be honest it HAS to be in blue steel , i narrowly missed a hornet with a worn out barrel a few years ago and haven't thought about getting one since,

    it would be a nice project ,a heavy barreled no.1 in an accurate calibre or maybe a full stocked one in 7x57 or maybe ......
