Milsim is a catch-all term for more structured games generally based more around objectives and usually incorporating ammo limits and harsher penalties for hits.

Milsim stands for Military Simulation. Its pretty much a more realistic type of play, usually with ammo limits, midcaps only and objective based games.

There good fun, Similar to re-enactments. Can be any length, usually all day and it aint unheard of to go for the night and through to morning with restrictions such as camo types to keep it up the realism and having ammo limits to simulate real life.
Many different types from Vietnam, WW2, Modern engagements, Zombies( yes zombies ) etc.
Rules of Engagment is one such based on more modern conflicts. Ambush Airsoft will probably hold some overnight matches similar to Milsims over summer. They are generaly good fun and more often player by seasoned players so the games rules are usually kept unlike in some games when new players sometimes dont understand the rules.
If you get a chance go to one, you wont regret it
