Hi guys, I sort of have the same problem as the above. I got my ipod for xmas 2009.
It's recently started crashing just after the waranty has stopped...
I have an amp with 2 speakers that connects to the ipod via jack lead, when ever i plug it in it causes the ipod to crash, but works 1% of the time. When i use the standard iPod headphones though it never crashes...?
Also, i used to charge my ipod through my xbox, but now when ever i plug my ipod into my xbox it also crashes...
I can't connect it to iTunes either, as it crashes 99% of the time, yesterday i managed to reset all the settings luckily but not sure if it finished, i managed to wipe all my music off of the ipod but still it always crashes no matter what i do?
Any ideas, would really apprieciate it.

If you restored it to factory settings and its still crashing then you have a hardward problem, (probably an electrical surge has shorted something)

    You would be better calling

If it's a hardware problem, you are still covered under the sale of goods and supply of services act 1980. It is reasonable to expect an iPod to last longer than a year. Clearly it's not of merchantable quality. Call Apple, get an irish voice on the line and quote the act. More than likely they will repair it, if they don't agree there are other steps you can take.

Post this in the Consumer Issues forum if you want some more advice.

Thanks for the advice guys, i'll chase it up and see how things go. I live near an apple store, i'll hunt down the reciet and go see if they'll repair it if i speak to them face to face.
