I have applied to go back to college this year. I already hold a level 7 and i am applying for a FETAC level 5 course. I'm not sure how they can tell but yeah, if you already hold a qualification you aren't entitled to further free fees or a second grant.

And I don't think you can just 'dump' previous qualifications. And if you lie you'll prob end up having to pay anything you do get. And it means if you were to later apply for level 8 they'd scrutinise your application very carefully.
