Can't make head nor tail of the Fas website, and the lady in the Fas office seems more interested in printing out irrelevant stuff than anything else but..

Brother is almost 20, been thru college and done 2 part time evening course the year after. Hasn't been able to get any full/part time work since he left school at 18, except for casual labour over the summer etc. Is getting 100euro per week for the dole, and is filling up his time volunteering. Needs some money, but there are no jobs and FAS have told him to do another course, even though he is sick to death of doing courses, and most of the ones around are of no interest to him (the two he has done were of no interest either but did them to stop boredom).

What can he do that would let him get the full dole basically? He hasn't got enough money week to week to get driving lessons or move out and hasn't much savings left from the summer jobs. I am confused as to whether he would need to be doing a FT 5 day a week course, or a one evening a week course... maybe it is explained in plain english on the site but I can't figure it out, and as I said the local FAS lady recommends everything form childcare to welding to him...

Here are the courses available to him currently: http://jobbank.fas.ie/servlet/Watis?SESS=44518_4&REQUEST=WWW_JS_TRAIN_SHOWCOURSES&BACK=TEMPLATE%3DWWW_JS_TRAIN_CRITERIUM_SELECT.HTM
