Great Cheltenham Moments...

Bored at home so flicking about on youtube. Unfortunately a lot of the racing videos are gone but some nice ones still available.

Some great festival moments:

Might Moscow, champion chase 2003. The roar when he jumps the last was something else

One of the greatest finishes I've seen, magic from McCoy

Others I can't find would include:

- Baracouda wins the stayers in 2002 when Swan gave Bannow Bay a terrible ride
- Moscow's 2nd champion chase
- Inglis Drever makes it 3 stayers hurdles
- What's up Boys' incredible finish to the 2000 Coral Cup
- Xenophon lands a monster touch in 2003 (didn't back it!!)
- Best Mate's 3rd Gold Cup
- the entire 2003 festival

Some of the old timers can maybe suggest a few others

I'm sure if I thought a bit harder I could!

I've just spent the last hour looking at clips from Cheltenham and it's really difficult to choose one - Dawn Run, Captain Christy, Kauto, Denman, Desert Orchid, Istabraq, Moscow, Best Mate to name but a few. There's been so many great horses it's impossible to say one is better than the others.

for me has to be denman have a picture of him over the mantle now as he paid for abit of the house :P
the atmosphere of him comin back was unreal the only time i seen harry as happy was when he won the coursing derby with big fella thanks

another worthy mention for my own great cheltenham moments has to be desert quest in the county hurdle and denman in the r&s

The drama of Hardy Eustace holding off Harchi springs to mind. Best Mate third GC and Inglis Drevers 3rd Stayers hurdle were great moments too. Watching Inglis Drevers' lunatic Spanish (think she was Spanish anyway) handler charging up the run in after him was priceless!

Took Simon Holt a while to cop that Rooster Booster hadn't pulled clear after the last in the 2004 race

Also has the infamous 2005 Champion Hurdle finish!!

Just thinking about that 2003 Sun Alliance Hurdle

I backed Hardy each way at 6/1 on course. One of my mates saw JP back Coolnagorna with Freddie Williams (in the next days racingpost Freddie claimed he laid a 750,000/150,000 bet). As a result yer man lumped on it each way as he fancied it anyhow. Cleaned Lord Sam out of it at the 2nd last and was disqualified. Painful for him!

2004 Supreme Novices Hurdle when Brave Inca and War of Attrition went head to head up the hill with Brave Inca winning by a neck by holding off War, possibly the best SNH in recent years with 2006 Gold cup and Champion Hurdler going head to head...what a race!

Champleve "lands" a huge gamble for Pipe & David Johnson, in a controversial finish. Still can't believe Hill Society didn't at least get a dead heat.
