Insurance Claim..

    Herself has an 02 Primera with a wrecked gearbox, approx price of a new one is 1100Euro, reconditioned one about 800Euro..ish
    The value of the car in todays market now would be around 3500 - 3800. I have never had a claim before, Im just wondering if something like this could be put through insurance?

    you wont get that much id say., i havent heard of putting car parts thru insurance.

    prob need to bite the bullet and find some decent indy mech to put on a refurb box

    Short answer - no. Insurance is for accidents, warranties are for mechanical breakdown.

    The technical phrase is mechanical derrangement or breakdown. Excluded under a motor policy I'm afraid. It is not there for maintenance, only accidents
