Dashboard diagnostic light & NCT Test

    Hi folks,

    I just had my car go through it's interrim service as it was due an oil change anyways and it's first NCT is coming up. It's an 06 Vectra btw.

    There was one of the diagnostic lights lit on the dashboard which the garage checked out on the computer and said it's likely the EGR valve will need replaced. They reset the light (apparently) and sent me on my merry way.

    A day or so later, the dashboard light came back on and the garage are now saying that it'll definitely need a new EGR valve. However, they'll need time to get one in and fit it and as I have my NCT on Wed am, am wondering if just this light being lit on the dashboard will be an automatic failure. Other than that the car is grand.

    I did check the NCT manual, but it's all a bit technical and vague for me. :confused:

    I had one of these warning notices on a primera before the gearbox imploded - couldnt miss it when in for an NCT. Passed no problems, other than a minor fail for a rip in the seat fabric....
