My apologies if a thread like this is inappropriate but I don't see a suitable section on Adverts to ask. Folks what would the likely sale price be for this lot on Adverts?

One backwards compatible PS3 with a 320GB hard drive
Dual shock controller and one semi-broken Sixaxis
    HDMI, analogue and optical cables
    15 Games:

    Modern Warefare 2
    Call of Duty: Modern Warefare
    Uncharted
    Uncharted 2
    Metal Gear Solid 4
    Grand Theft Auto 4
    Killzone 2
    Resistance: Fall of Man II
    Prince of Persia
    Grand Turismo Prologue
    Assassins Creed
    Virtua Tennis III
    Pro Evo 2009
    Motorstorm

    Turns out it's 14 games and not 15....... d'oh.

Why not just put it on ebay? close to €450/500 would be my guess

If i were you, I will post it for 500 hundred euros initially. If the initial response isnt tat good i will lower the price to around 450 ( in about 3-4 stages). This will happen over a period of 4-6 weeks. If i still dont get the price i am looking for, i will start selling them seperately.

Usually people dont like investing a lot in a single second hand bundle, however if you split them into seperate packages you are most likely to get your initial price. However its time consuming. Well tats what i would do anyway.

    Ill give you €600

On closer inspection this is exactly what i have !!!
BC PS3 with 320GB Hard drive, 2 controllers one has broken six axis cos the dog chewed it !
Apart from 3 games, are you my stalker?

Keep in mind he is asking how much to expect. Do not bid on this lot here or I'll have to shut it down. Sales are handled through adverts...

Yep I'm just curious what I should be asking around. I don't want to put it up with an under valued asking price. I hate the idea of parting with my PS3 but I kinda need a new camera so am considering selling it.

As our fine mod says don't make any offers, it's not for sale here! :)

I can't remember what the 15th game is! I'll add it later when I get home.

Priced this up on Amazon, didn't add a hard-drive because the Slim is 250 GB. Added Assassins Creed 2 instead of the original (on offer), didn't add another controller because one was damaged and didn't bother with the optical cables.

€658 for the lot (new) on there. After seeing that, I'd have to say €330-495 at the very best...sorry!

Outstanding way to advert on boards WITHOUT actually advertising on boards...

Don't forget that the original BC PS3s are the ones that are crapping out, so why would someone pay big money when they are looking down the barrel of another €160?

Well I'm not certain I will sell it. I'd rather not but, if it gets me a new camera then it's a strong possibility.

Hardly. A big percentage of the people on here who got them around release seem to have had YLoD or BRoD at some stage.

    incorrect,

the ps3 was always well made, ofc sometimes electronic goods fail but this is only a very small proportion of the total numbers sold. If its lasted this long it probably will last its estimated shelf life

    What percentage would that be???

There have been problems but, they haven't been that bad at all!

Agreed, can you buy additional warranty off Sony or something like that ?

I still think the BC is an extra perk until Geohot gets his act together :

A couple of weeks ago here they were failing one after another,a load of them 60GB Ps3s. ALso confirmed by Sony when I rang them that there were faults with the drives in the 60GBs and by store managers in GameStop and I think HMV. Plus an appearance on watchdog doesn't help.

Id list it at 600, and if it didnt sell, bring it down slowly to 500.

Not the most scientific, and doesn't account for when it has happened 2 or 3 times, but shocking all the same.

31.75% failure rate of people who have seen this thread on boards and voted...amazing...

As I said, I know there have been problems but, I think ye're overreacting! I have a launch model and it's never given me any bother at all! Sony were very annoyed with that Watchdog report, and rightly so, if anything the 360 is still more unreliable and has had more problems than the PS3.

This is an old article but, it illustrates my point!

Why are people having such a hard time believing that the PS3s most at risk are the ones which first hot the market?

I'm more amazed the fact that you are more willing to believe 2 year old reports than 250 people in Ireland voting on a board, TBH. Sony were bloody right to be annoyed at Watchdog highlighting the YLoD problems - The real problem was BRoD, but sloppy journos......they really cocked that one up.

BTW, Microsoft were claiming 2-3% failure rate on XBox right before it came out that is was way over 30% which cost them at least $1Bn.....I wonder why electronics companies lie?

Oh yeah, my launch 60GB never gave me an ounce of problems either.........until it went to BRoD 14 months after I bought it.

Like I said, it's an old report but, it's an indicator. Polls on boards have to be taken with a pinch of salt really! That thread started over a year ago and I only say it when you posted it!

A bit spurious to simply assume Sony are cooking the figures in the same way MS were. Ditto to assume that any revelation on the scale of RROD could be fothcoming.

    Price of PS3: €300
Price of goods asked for in OP: €600 odd
    Price of derailed thread: Priceless.
