be careful on this one...most ppl put this on thinking they wont have to paint the house for years...you will.... probably after 18 to 24 months...its discolours terribly and can look like fungus growing all over the house..i'd go for an ordinary plaster finish...but good luck if you decide the other way

    ditto the last comments

Go for an acrylic render as they are easier to paint and touch up.

Cost of supply and fit will be in the 30-35 euro range plus VAT.

Monocouche ranges in price from 9 euro to 16 euro a bag which will cover almost 1 m2.The more expensive product is great if applyed properly i.e 2 passes etc 30 a metre is 2007 prices you will get supply and fit now for 24-25 a m2 just make sure you see the plasterers work first.

Is there any sealant that can be applied to stop green mould growing on monocouche or similar renders? Or to stop any other weathering marks that occur?

there is an acid cleane that the likes of Capco sell along with their mono products. The likes of Contech accessories in Carlow also have cleaning products and I believe now also have a spcialist paint product for monocouche

I have no link to any of these companies

Does the higher the silicone content - mean the more weatherproof & less likely to mould? Has anyone heard of the Render Monorex?

monorex is a french product and is the more expensive monocouche. It is through coloured and weathers well.I think it is made by lafarge.

yeah its manufactured by lafarge - this is the one i have been quoted for supply & fit for €30 per sq mt - I also seen the plasterers work and have to say well impressed.

    Hi.looking for guidance please.

I have a wall which is 50% brick, 40% pebbledash and 10% painted concrete render. (ie grotesque) Herself (understandably) wants it rendered all over- ideally in a coloured render. Is this a big job pls? Does the pebbledash need to be hacked back? do the painted sections need to be hacked off also? Any guidance on product, cost or recommendations welcome. Would any decent plasterer be able to do this or is some specialist skill needed?

    Thanks in advance.
