I have this Deuter bag. I use it for my commute, and I'm very happy with it.

It's definitely much better than my old non-bike-specific bag. It sits comfortably and securely on my back. The helmet flap is handy, and it has a reflectives and a light loop.

I use panniers, but I have a small Deuter bag that I use for a quick spin down to the shops. I also use it for carrying around raingear and day-to-day stuff when I'm out and about on foot. Good bag.

I like the little elastic strap at the bottom of Deuter bags. Not sure whether it was intended for this use, but it's very good for holding a 1/2 Watt LED.
