Just seen this over on the XS forums, and thought it might be of some interest here. BEHardware have gone and benched 131 Intel and AMD CPU's!!! If anyone is looking at upgrading anytime soon the results here can certainly help you to make the right choice.

Have a closer look.. they have released (or updated since original release was 2009 I think) benches of a certain AMD 975 processor...

Boo-urns! No Athlon X4s or 32nm Intel CPUs!

Still, pretty fun watching the ~€60 X3-435 boxing above its weight. And it certainly seems to suggest that few people in this world could ever need more power than an i5-750. Looked like it was in the top ten in pretty much everything - by a fair margin.

I thought all the higher end amd proc's really showed their value!

Don't forget that the AM3 platform costs quite a bit less too

New I was right not to jump on the bandwagon and resist the urge to upgrade to i7.....whish I had the balls to resist the GPU bandwagon also....:rolleyes:

Just have to wait till the next round of 6 cores hit the market and the dance starts all over again
