No high speed wobble

Ive just moved on from an aluminium frame to full carbon and realise that it takes a bit of getting used to.However at the start of the Barrow Wheelers sportive recently i experienced a wobble on the bike while descending at no more than 40kph. The road surface was quite lumpy and it didnt happen again until last weekend again at the start of a descent. On both occasions the bars wobbled badly and i had no option but to slow down.

Any ideas as to the cause,or is it normal on a carbon frame. I checked that the wheels are tightened properly with the quick release and theres no problem on that score.

Would appreciate any opinions from you boardsies.

Sounds like speed wobble. Although it may seem counter intuitive, relax your grip on the bars, or try pressing your knees against the top tube. What frame is it btw?

Loose headset? If the headset is even slightly loose, it can cause this.

Yup, it's a slightly terrifying experience. The only way to get out of it (as you may have read above) is to do the exact opposite to what your instincts tell you to do in a panic situation.
