Do banks accept loads of change?

    Hi

I'm throwing any spare €2 coins into a jar I have at home. I'm going to wait until it's full and then cash it in.

I reckon it'll be around €1k. Will the banks accept this much change? I'll count it out into bags first. I don't want to lose 10% to those coin counting machines in shops.

Cool. It's around half full now. Might be going to New Zealand at the end of the year so this will come in handy for that.

I don't know if they will accept them but you could just lodge the coin into your account. The lodgment slip breaks down the amount in coin - If you are sure how much is in the coin. They surely can't refuse that - Its cash that your lodging into your account. And they are broke!!

is that an option for you?

Would you not be worried about having that much cash lying around in you house:eek:. That an uncomfortable bed you got there.:p I'd say house robberies may be on the increase are they?

Actually thinking about this again - If your rich and male can you PM me, your exactly the type of guy I'd be looking for someone who doesn't miss 1k in money out of their pocket. I mean if thats how much €2 you have lying around, I'd love to know how many €100 bills you have lying around too :D

no.... he owns a shop and the bank charges him to get change so ...basically he saves the bank's commission

nope, all them folk who think paying for stuff is stupid are actually going to the shops and just talking stuff. one of the first people to loose there jobs are the security guards and the most of the staff are like "well its not my job to stop the" so they just let them leave as they're scared etc then they ring the feds and the lads* do it again the next day...

    *used generically

Ha Ha. I'm not rich by a long shot. Just started throwing my €2 coins into the jar. I've been doing it for around a year now. Hopefully it'll be full by the end of the year.

Here's a pic of the jar

Yeah, I can put it straight into my account. That's no problem.

Actually my aunts house was robbed recently and they took the change in her house. They used a pillow case to carry it off in. The guards said that's happening a lot as the junkies who are robbing the house would have ready cash to pass on.

    Nice Jar :pac:

Don't bother to PM though :(, a load of €2 looks alot better in my head than in reality :o

You should collect / hide it in a white coloured Persil* washing powder container, jars too transparent, they'd never suspect the washing powder - use the jar for flowers instead. Its daffodil season almost.

*just one that pops into mind, not that I use Persil, any other washing powder brand would also do, T&C apply.

It's an old Celebrations jar :)

What did you think €1k of €2 coins would look like?

Did you picture it like this?
