Got a new watch today. I am torn between 12 hr and 24 hr. I settle for 24 hour then decide but that's not what people say. I change to 12 hour but it doesn't look as nice. So tell me afterhours. What way do you prefer. 24hr time or 12hr.

12 hour. You don't have to think as much to see what time it is :)
Or just bring it back and get one with a dial if its tearing you up so much..

I usually leave it at the default, it's not really an issue

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Asking After Hours for help wasn't one of your best choices.

However, I would recommend the 24 hour.

24 hours, the other is only for people who can't subtract twelve.

24h obviously, when you're on a proper weekend bender 12h could throw you off completely. Imagine waking up in a pile of your own vomit and seeing 02:00 you don't know if it's time to head to a late bar for cocktails or just to the local for more beers.

Go backwards and travel back in time. Thats what I'd do

24 hour, sounds better when someone asks you for the time and you say 17.30 instead of half 5

Nobody beats the Germans when it comes to timekeeping.

Knew a guy in college who was a tattooist.

We got absolutely blasted one night and he ink'd a watch on himself.
Not even a pretty one, his hands were shaking all over the place, I had to finish it off for him.

He swore that was the last time he'd go under the needle pissed,
    That lasted about three weeks.

Whenever somebody asked him the time after a few drinks, he'd rub this badly scrawled doodle across his wrist in there face and go "It's 5.30... See.. see... WAIT.. It's not ticking!!"

Wonder what happened to that guy..

My guess is he is currently Director of Comedy at RTE.

    24hr for sure.

That way you can't cock up the am/pm aspect and set your alarm for seven in the evening.

    binary

Reminds me of my new fave website!! It's digitalicious!!! :D

    http://nickciske.com/tools/binary.php

I think, obviously taking back my first unhelpful statement (for want of a better word), the OP should alternate between 24hr and 12hr on every hour on the hour.

I use an alarm clock / mobile alarm for sorting am/pm but handy if you also have that 24hr function on your watch

My god man! You've came to the right place!

Ok let's set the scene. You're an elite commando unit. You go solo and you're in a foreign war torn country ready to strike down the worlds biggest drug dealing bigamist. Strike time is at "oh four hundred" His many wives love a man who can tell time by 24 hour format. No AM or PM for these ladies it's party time, all the time!

Now switch that puppy to 24 hour mode soldier and let's go bust a cap in some asses (in more ways than one)

The only reason we're having this conversation is because you chose a digital watch.
