    As the title thread suggests.

That is what Mike O'Dwyer Motor's LED road signage say's as of today.

How can scrappage be €12,000 can somebody explain to me or is this just crazy false advertising/description of discounts?

I'd say its extra support from Mazda - IF the figure is right.

I bet its an old model MPS and it has been in stock for a while

Was there last week and there is a 2.3L black 3 or 6 with moss growing in a ring around it so maybe he's trying to shift that?
Didn't take too much notice of what model or year, but noticed the bonnet bulge. Bonnet bulge = MPS?

Someone may have also accidentally put an extra zero at the end...

It has to be more than €1200 - The government rebate alone is €1500. I'd just say Mazda are trying to get rid of whats left of them, and stuck on a huge discount.

I'd imagine a member of the Green party will personally bend you over a barrel.

I don't think the MPS falss into CO2 band A or B though, more like F or G.

    224g CO2/km, so €1050 tax.

That car doesn't qualify for the Government Scrappage Scheme

right so whats the story? 12k for what year? :D 1k eu road tax is something i could live with such car...

O dear, petrol hot hatches dont have a chance anymore wiht road tax like that, not even close to the €630 band either, 2g/km more and it would be €2100 road tax, and even more sale proof than it is now

That's a lot of car for the money. Was passing a Mazda dealer (may have been in Cork or Limerick) lately and saw E12k scrappage alright.

They're not claiming to be part of the government scrappage scheme and you can treat this as a discount.

2.1K would be a killer alright, 1K tax for a 2.3 turbo 260bhp isn't bad considering I was looking at a 2.5V6 under the old system (935euro) with 190 if I was lucky or 160 if I was unlucky.

If I was lookin to buy a car like that i'd go for d cupra r more bhp and cheaper tax. I do like the mps tho its like a wolf in sheeps clothing.

But that is the old model 3 MPS so it outputs 231g/km doesn't it. Thats 2k for tax

Only the very new model puts out 224g/km.
