just noticed today that when my renault laguna is parked and i take out the key card the red flashing light on the dashboard comes on and stays on until i put the key card back in, once its in it stops flashing, i only have the car a few days but never noticed this so i am not sure if this is a problem or not, can anyone shed any light on this before i bring it to the dealer, car runs fine otherwise, cheers

Are you referring to the alarm/immobilizer light?

Sounds like the immobiliser turning on.

I've a clio and it does the same. There's nothing wrong with the car,its just a safety feature or something that Renault do.

EDIT: Yeah its the immobilser as said. Had a mental block, couldn't think of the name of it!!
