Great to see the Walker Cup going to Rosses Point - one of my favourites.

It was made official today: Paul Dunne, 17, and a member of my home club has been placed on the Walker Cup panel for 2011 (at Royal Aberdeen). He's the first from our club to have achieved the honour. Hopefully he'll now make the team.

    Congratulations Paul.

I honestly believe he's one to watch for the future. He has a great head on his shoulders and a superb short game.

That's great news, great to have some irish players involved.

Have yet to see him play, Gorfield mentioned he played with him recently and he was well impressed.

Didn't he captain the GB&I under 18's team last year?

    cobwebs.......
    Score- 74
    Course- Portmarnock links-blue tees
    Hcap- +3
    Par- 71
    Comp- GUI trial.

Boring.....15 pars and 3 bogeys.......didnt hole a thing, not surprized as my 1st game since october, add in new clubs and i should be fairly happy.......On a brighter note i had the pleasure of playing with a young chap called Paul Dunne from greystones, a huge talent destined for european tour and beyond imho. Already capped at senior level for ireland and a cert for next walker cup i think.

Yep very good, nice chap also. I dont see much else apart from him and Alan Dunbar though coming through at the moment.....

We came up against him in the Barton... can't remember the outcome of his match or who he played because he was at home in Greystones and I was watching in Gowran but we heard plenty of great things about him.

He played against us for Greystones in the Fred Daly All Ireland Semi in 2007. Thankfully I was'nt out no.1 that match as he stuffed our number 1....good to see he's continued on a pretty exponential rise since then! Future star.....
