What are your thoughts?, don't just base your decision on the awesome that was season 1 (despite Kring whimping out in the last two eps.), overall...what do you think?

Season 4 held great promise, and on some levels did work...upto the midseason break i felt S4 was pretty good, budget restraints required more character development....but then, something happened?

It's like they had everything up the midseason finale mapped out, but then had no clue what came next? :(

It just went to crap, given everything does Heroes deserve a fifth?

I went for "I really don't give a crap about Heroes anymore!" because really I just dont care. Now dont get me wrong, if it comes back on I'll watch it but if we never see another new episode I for one wont be having any sleepless nights wondering what could have been. Its a shame really.

I voted no. Because it doesn't deserve one. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see it have another season.

With the news that the creator, Tim Kring, will be working on a new project next year it could open up the possibility of someone new taking over with fresh ideas.

I'm not sure where the show can go from the 4th season finale.
Now that Claire has come our to the world, you could see a typical superhero show where the good guys and bad guys fight it out in public with everyone knowing about them. But I doubt the show would have the budget for that. If it turns into a witchhunt type of season with the normal people trying to kill the specials, well that's been done before.

So unless some new ideas and writers come in I think the show should just end where it is now. Another example of a promising idea that started well but went downhill fast.

Anyway at least we have Misfits on E4. Heroes with sex, drugs and swearing!

Voted "No" - though I'd probably still watch it to the bitter end if it got another season, it doesn't deserve it at all. How many times has Kring and co. gone on about "oh yeah, we f***ed up, but just wait for next season, it's gonna rock"? And it still is always craptacular... The show has already gotten its' second (and third, and fourth...) chance to be good again and has spectacularly failed every time. So it's time to just let it die.

I agree entirely with the mid-season break thing with this season. It was going really strong and had a real sense of buildup but then just lost direction and deflated.

Also, I've always held a special hatred for Season 3 because of the utter stupidity that was Villains, but I've been looking back over some old eps, and I really think Volume IV was underrated. I just watched the episode "Cold Snap" at random the other day and really enjoyed it. It had suspense and direction and contrasted completely with the last curmudgeonly episodes of Season 5.

Season 1 isn't the be all and end all - it had plenty of its own plot holes and filler episodes. I still think there's hope.

I voted No Opinion. The show has changed so much now that I totally disassociate it with Season One now. They can make as many seasons as they want but in the end, I'm always gonna hold S1 as standalone and all other seasons as non-canon with S1. Purely so that I can hold on to S1 being so awesome. They shan't taint the show for me with more crap seasons so I don't care if they make them. I'll still watch with passive interest.

Not pushed at all about it.
Only 2 people really carried this show...Sylar and Bennett.
Bennett is still fantastic as always but a good Sylar? For frak's sake..
Probably in Season 5 Hiro will go back again in time and stop Claire from publicizing her powers or some such shíte.
Heroes has been a real disappointment for me..it had such promise in Season 1 and it's been downhill ever since.
As much as people criticize Lost every season has been excellent in my opinion.

Not a chance, it has become tiresome.

For a show that had so much potential, they really went about it the wrong way. Shame really.

I just think they have too many characters, which results in everything not being done correctly.

Focus the whole series around 2 maybe 3 characters max, give them the same specific journey and drop the other characters we all like into a couple of episodes every series.

I think that they should use the format that each episode tells its own story (like CSI & NCIS)

I love heroes and I most admit that the last couple of seasons has been awful, season 5 started so well but when it ended it left me with the feeling of is that it.
I hope there will be a season 6 just to see where they go from here but they should call it a day after that.

I actually thought it ended well. The story of the Heroes living undercover is finished. Sylar is redeemed. Peter has a better handle on himself. Bennet understands what he has done to his daughter and has found a new love. Matt has realised what he needs to do to keep his family. There was an ending for most of the characters.

Of course there is potential for what happens next but it doesn't necessarily have to be the same characters.
