my neighbour has had the turbo on his vw passat 1.9tdi blow . where's the best place to get a replacement at a resonable price or get his repaired ?.

Has he really blown the turbo or is that what his mechanic told him? Two different things tbh. Any symptoms?

i have seen the advert on the gumtree with turbos refurbishment specialists based in belfast

its gonna cost your neighbour a good bit of money anyway, 500e at least...


hopely he will understand now that turbo require a bit of care... like warming up and cooling down, and it doesnt matter if the car is petrol or diesel

thanks for the replies. He says that there were plumes of white smoke under acceleration and a loss of power. He's not sure about the service history as he only recently got the car
