Anyone familiar with Diadora SPD shoe sizing

I'm going to get a pair of SPD pedals and shoes for my commute to town.
Was looking at these Diadora shoes.
I'm normally a size 9 in street shoes, 44 in these Shimano SPD shoes.
Is anyone familiar with the Diadora sizings. I.e. longer/shorter/wider/tighter than Shimano for example.
Can anyone offer advice or suggestions. (will consider other options)
    Robert

I'm also a size 9 in normal shoes. I bought these Size 43 Diadoras and they were too small. While a 44 might have been OK I eventually chose a 45 so that I can wear two pairs of socks:o.

I'm a size ten and a half and find the Diadora size 46 a bit roomy, I have another pair of Shimano shoes and find the size 46 tight.

I have two pairs of Diadoras... one road, one mtb and I'm a 45 in both though I'm normally a 44. I have a pair of 44 Specialized mtb shoes and they are bigger.
