Creaky suspension on 02 Astra

    Hi all,

Over the last few weeks the front suspension on our 02 Opel Astra has begun to creak. Driving slowly onto a speed bump is fine but coming over the other side of it produces a very loud creaking sound. Loud enough to be broderline scraping recently.

Taking it into the garage on Saturday morning.

Any ideas on what I should ask about to make it look like I know what I'm talking about and lessen the chances of me being taken to town? :p

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Quad

I'd go with either control arm or anti roll bar bushings.

On the ARB's they're serviceable but on most vehicles for the control arm bushings a dealer will trell you that you need to replace the arm.

Not sure on cost but wouldn'y say much either way. Mechanic should be able to demonstrate play in the joints indicating worn rubber/bushing if this is the case.

as mentioned already, could be arb bushings.

    Or maybe a wheel bearing.
