Check out this months irish shooters digest,,big page about the green party and their plans to ban all kinds of bloodsports among other things, makes some scary reading.
also check out www.greenparty.ie and their animal welfare section.
maybe thats where this RISE are coming from, they see another threat to shooting.

It's time we as legitimate field sport enthusiasts put our differences aside in relation to other field sports we do not engage in. From day 1 the ICABS, greens etc have always seen shooting as a legitimate target. If they ban Stag hunting, Fox hunting will be next then they will ban shooting and on and on.

Then it will be tail docking for working breads, then you wont be able to get a litter of puppies out of your gun dog (because you dont have a licence), then you wont be able to bread pheasants because you arent suitably qualified etc etc etc untill we are all eating Tofu and lentils.

Did any of ye hear Gormleys arrogance in relation to the incinerator, nothing short of saying I will legislate to reduce the amount of waste to not make it viable, as he threw the dolly and soother out of the cot...Lads its almost a police state we live in.

The last three Sundays we had our usual fox drives and we have more next week. Culminating in a couple plates of sandwiches pots of tea and maybe a pint or two as the evening wore on. Old batchelor farmers coming out to stand in a gap chatting and laughing with the guns, enjoying themselves and the company. This isnt lads going around on horses but its still fox hunting dont forget ever forget this

    Please, Please
Print off that petition and send it to everyone you know, get every member or friend to do likewise get them to fill 2 pages and send it in. For our sports sake.

Lads there is a big push on this now amongst clubs, Most RGC's and club secretaries asking for members to get active.
The petition can be downloaded from the RISE (Rural Ireland Says Enough Website) Any shooting man that is into hunting should try to at least fill in 1 page and return it to the campaign offices. #

I note that John Fitzgerald for the abolition of cruel sports is writing and urging people to write to all Ministers to insist that the ban go ahead.

Its no use sitting here next year wondering why they are focussing on pheasant shooting next, because be under no illusions, if they get rid of stag hunting they will go for fox hunting, fox shooting, pheasantt shooting etc etc

    Extract from green web site!!

7.3 The Party calls for research into alternative methods of animal population management other than killing, and the implementation of these methods..

Oh great idea lads lets cut their balls off or feed them high concentrations of chemicals to stop them breeding..!! Yep that'll do it!!!

How could this be taken seriously?

Oh ye and as i said before!

We're sitting here in calm water with all engines at full stop!! The hunting and sporting groups are simply happy with their lot!! And now the Greens are circling in the U-boats and they're taking pot shots-- those groups on the outside are getting hit first!! :(

We need to rev up the engines and bring the fight to them!! we should be looking to increase or range of hunting and fishing sports and the fight to them!!

We're just like sitting ducks here...

I have my own plans drawn up and I'll be dropping a copy into FF hands within the next month or so!!! Its my personal interest but its the amount of Sh1t that sticks that counts--
