Question about CAO number and mature supplementary application form

Sent off my supplementary form to DCU a few days before i got my CAO number in the post, although i covered this fact by sending them everything i sent CAO just incase (was i right in doing this?) i want to know should i contact the admissions office and give them the CAO number?
