    Hi. Can anyone direct me to any texts/sites dealing with the specific provisions of scottish consumer law.

    Strange as it might seem I did try that!!! need something more about instituting proceedings based on consumer law in scotland?? any ideas??

    Not really - scottish law is a bit of a minefield as it is quite different from England & Wales in some important aspects. I thought you were just looking to read around the area. If you're thinking of sueing someone you need a scottish lawyer type I think.

    You probably need to be more specific about your query. Are you looking to sue a Scottish seller trading in Ireland? Is the entire query Scotland-based? People here may be more able to offer assistance if you provide some more info about your query.

    I am aware that if the company is selling in Ireland I would be free to take the action here. I was just curious to see exactly how different Scottish law actually is - from texts etc. If it turned out to be incredibly complex I would of course engage a Scottish lawyer.
    Sorry for the seemingly cryptic nature of the post but I am always wary of over jealous moderators deeming that "SEEKING LEGAL ADVICE" and blocking the thread ();)

    I presume you mean over zealous, unless there's something you're not telling us...
