ok probably a stupid question or concept, but ive read on here of lads losing foxes due to the wind being in the foxes favour. here comes the stupid bit.:rolleyes:

is there anyway of disguising or masking your smell to that of another fox or to a nuetral smell that the fox would pay no heed to???

Smoke. Hang your outer layer of clothing in the smoke of a very smokey open fire and that should mask your smell. Foxy mightn't like the smell of an old fire but he hates the smell of humans.

    +1
Seen that on Nat Geo alright. Some lad dancing around a fire to mask his smell as he tracked big cats in a forest.

I wouldn't go in for lotions and potions for disguising scent for shooting foxes. Another cost, another thing to find a place for, another thing to waste time doing.

Know your ground as best you can is my advice. Remember where fox pathways are, check the wind, and plan your position based on that.

There ain't no one here with a 100% record on foxes.

The reason these scent pots are marketed on videos and dvd's is because usually the people featured or people they know make and sell those products.

In my cynical opinion it's just another way of wrangling money out of people.
