This is an odd question I know but maybe ye chemistry heads might be able to help me out. Could ya make incense oils from seaweed? I hear they can make perfume from seaweed so I would assume it would be possible. I would need a meothod of extracting the oils and I hear this is called "absoultes". Apparently I would not distill the seaweed plants but I would use a solvent to extract the oils from the seaweed that have thet scent. Any petroleum based by broduct like acetone would do I've heard. Any ideas?

you could extract the oils from seaweed, if they were there already then you'd have to separate out the ones you want from the ones you don't

perfumes are usually blends, not sure about incense oil , you may have to source other oils from other sources

basically you need to check what concentrations of oils are in various seaweeds first, they may not be concentrated enough to be worth extracting
