...the lack of the regular posters, who used to be here asking the same questions as everyone else, who have now entered training, and never show their face again.
Their experiences of training, guidence and/or just a plain old chin wag about how things are could really be invaluable to some folk who have doubts, or just zero knowledge of what goes on.

Was just thinking to myself. Oh well....

Occassionally a ' veteran ' does make an appearance but for the most part it is true that folks tend to stop posting when they enter Garnerville , AFAIK a lot of it is time - very busy in training apparently and just no time to get online :(

I meant people more recently, not the forum moderator.
They are so quick at telling people they are in, but seem to then vanish off the face of the earth.
    Just an observation :)

I reckon most people who get in to GV are probably too busy with their heads buried in paperwork to browse through all posts on the forum. On the weekends off I'm sure they just want to catch up with friends and family.

The forum is called PSNI Recruitment. It is a tool to allow potential entrants to gain as much info as can be put in the public domain. Once people are in GV they are restricted on what they can say. Therefore it is proabable easier for them to just not post at all.

Out of curiosity, did you feel you had time to post when you were in GV?

I agree, but thats why I said it was unfortunate. Wouldnt it be nice to be able to speak freely, like so many on the mainland can and do on other forums.

I wasnt in for long, so I cannot say.

I agree about the workload though...not much time to be online etc etc.

It would indeed be nice to speak freely. Sadly NI is years, if not generations, away from that.

I'm a veteran, but if you get in and come back to the site after about 2 months you get sick of seeing people asking the same questions

See you should be taking that as an opportunity to impart your hard earned knowledge!!

0607 if you'd actually stuck out GV for any length of time the 1st time then you would realise that there isn't much time to pee let alone come onto the board and answer questions that have been answered already in the posts.

Maybe you should channel that frustration into something productive rather than bitching that the people studying don't have time to post.

    Regards......;)

Do not ever mention or comment on my personal circumstances, or try to advise me, on anything - understand? Highly unprofessional coming from someone who now represents the PSNI, and is training to become a police officer.
You obviously have alot of training to do...

There is zero frustration from my earlier posts. However, a few of you seem to have taken it personal, thats too bad. I wouldnt have posted it if I knew people were so easily wound up. I will ask for it to be deleted.

Since others had input, I would need their collective permission to delete it as it contains posts made by them. I'm happy to close it as it seems to be going the wrong way.

Sorry but I have to do the whole legal thing here: Nobody on this site represents the PSNI. Not me, not poppysox, nobody. When we post here, we post on our own time, on our own computers, and never on police property.
